What Does The EEG Report Regarding Convulsion Indicate?
My son, 3.5 years old, got senseless like convulsion. CT scan normal,EEG report- “background is formed by 7-8 Hz frequency theta waves. There are occasional sharp wave discharge from both hemisphere. Impression-EEG is suggestive of interictal seizure disorder. please correlate clinically.” Doctor treat him epilepsy child and give him medicine-syp Encorate. My child also suffers from childhood asthama. I am afraid of . please advice me . Is encorate right medicine?

Hi,
I think your pediatrician has been right in starting Encorate because the EEG is definitely showing abnormality. It does not have any side effects as far as wheezing is concerned.Even if it is a seizure disorder CT scan can be normal.
