What Does The MRI Report Indicate?

Husband age 62 just had and mri with impression reading 1. mild nonspecific white matter disease which is most likely due to chronic microvascular ischemic demyelination. They did not send him anywhere. Is there something we should be doing. He is otherwise in great health, weight, cholesterol and exercises frequently. It is just freaking me out.

Hello

Mild nonspecific white matter disease of brain may be due to ischemic changes resulting from involvement of small blood vessels, demyelination etc.
Ischemic changes resulting from blood vessels changes in diseases like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia.
So,your husband need monitoring of conditions that leads to ischemic changes like hypertension, altered lipid profile, diabetes mellitus so that further progression of disease can be halted.
He need investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,complete lipid profile, ultrasound of abdomen.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.

He also need follow up scan.

Take Care
