Findings of my pet scan: There is physiologic activity within the tonsillar tissues and some normal activity noted at the level of the glottis. There is activity within the adnexa which is consistant with physiologic ovarian metabolism. What does these two mean??

Principle is metabolically active cells have higher uptake of glucose and thus give hot spot on scan. Malignant cells being more active than normal show more uptake and gives hot spot on scan. In human body some cells are more active than normal cells like tonsills, adrenal and ovary. So normal individual can also cause hot spot in these areas. So no need to worry about this report.
