hi. My wife have pain in legs & body without fever. On blood test report Lyphosite is 43%, all other hematology counts are within range. Widal test report is as below: 1:40 1:80 1:160 1:320 S Typhi O Positive Positive Positive Negative S Typhi H Positive Positive Negative Negative S P Typhi AH Negative Negative Negative Negative S Typhi BH Negative Negative Negative Negative Kindly suggest me.
Your wife reports suggests positive widal test.It indicates typhoid fever.Titration value of anti O or H > or equal to 1: 160 indicate typhoid infection. A single Widal test is of little clinical relevance due to the number of cross reacting infections. However, four fold increase in serial titration is confirmatory.
She need to take antibiotics regularly for 5- 7 days.Expected days of recovery is within 7-10 days. I prescribe tablet cefixime 200 mg twice daily for seven days to my patients.
Increased lymphocyte count may be due to viral or typhoid infection.
