What Does The Alk Fas Mean When It Is High?
if my sons blood tests show the following: Ferritin low at 16, creatine low, vita d low, and alkfas high at 232.
I am concerned with the alk fas being high. What could it mean if he is 12 years old and hasn't gained a pound in over a year and last year lost 5 lbs and has grown just .5 of inch?
I believe this is the 3 time that this level is high but they attribute it to his reaching puberty. He hasn't shown any signs of puberty at all. What does the alk fas mean when it is high?

Alkaine phophatase is linked to mlingancy. Liver function test ,specific blood test to exclude leukemia should be done.Family physician should check for mlig nancy in this age.Get advice of pad specialist.
