What Does The Cat Scan Report Indicate?

My mother is 84 and a cat scan just revealed that her brain is shrinking and that parts of the brain are not getting enough blood. She has been experiencing a feeling of numbness or heavy legs and chills intermitently. What could be the cause of all of this? Thanks, Cheryl

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The problem of your mother seems to be age related atrophy of brain. But the other causes like ischemic conditions or degenerative diseases of brain should be ruled out and treated accordingly, if possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
