What Does The Chest X-ray Findings Mean?
I had a chest xray today. The report:Findings: Patchy areas of discoid atelectasis within the right middle lobe and lingula. The remaining lung fields are clear without focal consolidation, pleural effusion, or pneumothorax.The cardiomediastinal silhouette is within normal limits. Tracheal air column is midline.The visualized osseous structures are grossly unremarkable.IMPRESSION: No acute cardiopulmonary abnormality. I have no idea what this means. I'm sure I will hear from the Dr but in the mean time? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Your report mentions about few patchy areas in the lungs, Right middle lobe and lingula. These are most likely to be areas of partial collapse (atelectasis). You might need to get spirometry tests done if required by your doctor and if you have breathing problems.
