What Does The Findings Of Abdominal Ultrasound Mean? Any Treatment Required?

I just received abdominal ultrasound results. The liver shows a small anechoic lesion in its inferior and central margin, within the right lobe. It measures 1.1 x 1.4 x 1.7 cm and has the appearance of a simple cyst. Could this be causing the pain? (which I thought was maybe gallstones, but gall bladder is reportedly normal as was rest of imaging results). And is this something serious that needs treatment? Does it go away on own and any suggestions of what to do? Thank you kindly

hi,
A simple cyst is more likely to be benign, is probably present since long time. It needs no treatment and is generally asymptomatic unless infected.
A very important point here is whether it has any features of an abcess (sometimes, abcesses look like cysts and mis interpreted as cysts); as abcess is pathological and needs treatment.
hope this helped.
