hi my name is Kelly. I just had a cat scan done on my chest. and it said i have a few lymph notes measuring 1 cm. are noted aortopulmonary window. there is a small pericardial effusion. most of the fluid is located in the upper aspect of pericardial sac. there is a mass llesion left adrenal gland measuring 3x2x1.5 cm. the attenuation of the lesion is between 20 to 30 hounsfield units. the periphery of the lesion is somewhat irregular and the attenuation of the abnormality is heterogeneous normal shapeof the left adrenal glandis almost completely obliterated by the lesion. mild degenerative disk changes of the thoracic spine are noted. the conclusion is elevation of the left hemidiaphragm . there is minimal atelectasis of the lingular segment left upper lobe and atelectasis left lower lobe there is nonspecific. no convincing evidence of pulmonary malignancy. 3 cm mass lesion left adrenal gland some of the features of the lesion are worrisome for malignancy. recommendation three phase ct of the adrenal glands at this time and repeat chest images in three months. Can you translate in a way that i better understand? and is there a good chance that it could be cancerous. please help. thankyou.
