General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Seminal fluid analysis (SFA) report you have furnished suggest the following:

1. pH of 8 is normal as reaction is expected to be alkaline.
2. Sperm morphology with 60% normal forms is fair.
3. Sperm count of 97 million/ml is fine.
4. Sperm motility of 40% actively motile is less than normal and needs to be addressed.

Agglutination of sperm occurs when the head or tail of one sperm sticks to another sperm restricting the motility of the sperm. It occurs mostly due to infection, inflammation or due to anti-sperm antibodies.

Sperm motility can be increased by taking medications containing L-carnitine, Lipoic acid, Selenium, CoQ10, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Zinc, as these elements provide appropriate nutrients as well as creates a suitable environment for improving sperm functions such as motility.

If there is any evidence of infection, it needs to be treated with an appropriate course of antibiotics. Kindly consult Urologist for an appropriate course of treatment.

Kindly take the necessary medication and repeat seminal fluid analysis after 3 months to look for improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
