What Does The Following Medical Evaluation Indicate?
I am adopting a girl from Colombia. There is no medical records of her past. She is 11 years old and recently had a medical evaluation. This is what I received in that report. Can you tell me what this means? HBsAg ** HIV HSB** VDRL Ag surface HEPATITIS B II IMMUNOLOGY: 0.311 NON REACTIVE LESS THAN 1.0 REACTIVE HIGHER OR EQUAL TO 1.0 ECLIA TECHNIQUE THE REACTIVE SAMPLES SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO CONFIRMATION TESTS. ANOTHER TEST: HIV HSB: PENDING SEROLOGY: NON REACTIVE. DILS RANGE OF REACTIVITY: 0-400 DILS
Hello and welcome to HCM, This is a list of investigations done to know whether various infections- hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis are present in body of the child or not. The test results show that all the tests are non-reactive or negative. So, the child is free from hepatitis B, HIV and syphilis infections. If any of these tests turned out to be reactive, confirmation tests had to be done but thats not the case here.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
