What does this really mean? B-mode imaging reveals normal compressibility without evidence of intraluminal echoes for all deep venous segments of the left lower extremity. The left greater saphenous vein is obliterated starting 1.6 cm below the saphenofemoral junction. The left lesser saphenous vein is obliterated starting 0.5 cm below the saphenopopliteal junction. Thank you
1.The B mode imaging means the ultrasound scan in grey scale mode. 2.Compressibility means - it will rule-out the presence of any thrombus. 3.At the same time the valve competence will be assessed with valsalva manoeuvre. 4.Obliteration of the vein probably narrowing of the veins are seen - could be vascular pathology. As thrombus is ruled out. 5.In this case further angiogram with CT / MR will be definitive for further evaluation.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
