What Does The Following Ultrasound Result Show?

Hi, my daughter has ultrasound and the result said: "Very mild in right renal pelviectasis w/o caliectasis. This may just reflect a mildly prominent extrarenal pelvis althought mild reflux could also account for this apperance in the proper clinical setting. No left pelvistacis or hydronephrosis." I don't clearly understand but when we went to the specialist my daughter need go to VCUG and use antibiotics 2 to 3 weeks. I really don't want my kid use a lot of antibiotics. Please reply to me

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The ultrasound report indicates there is a obstruction note in the right pelvis but calyx appears normal. This is seen in case of extra renal pelvis - which is normal variations - for which treatment is not needed.
2.Left kidney appears normal, no abnormality regarding pelvis and calyx.
3.Voiding cystouretro-gram is done to see the status or urethra, bladder, and latency of ureters ( if there is any reflex)
4.There might be symptoms of burning micturition or involuntary passage of urine - in this symptoms if there are no findings in ultrasound further evaluation is done possibly for that.
5.If there are findings suggest cystitis - then baby needs antibiotic, no other way to treat with out. Hope the best and take course of antibiotic. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
