LUMBAR SPINE MRI: (07/01/2011)FINDINGS: Axial and sagittal T1 and T2 weighted images of the lumbar spine were obtained. The vertebral bodies are normal in height, alignment and marrow signal intensity. Disc spaces are preserved. Visualized portions of the cord display normal signal intensity. Axial images through the disc spaces reveal the following: L5-S1: Small focal right posterolateral disc herniation. The disc protrudes into the inferior portion of the right neural foramen. The right L5 nerve root exits the neural foramen unimpeded. The disc abuts and slightly displaces the descending right S1 nerve root posteriorly.
