Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend had a new X-ray for lungs then she was told she has a 11 mm spot and an opaque thing above that they can t tell what it is they want her to have a pet scan. What does the opaque part mean and does this this mean lung cancer. YYYY@YYYY
Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon. There are many reasons for lung opacities and they differ in position size and according to the disease process. Without having a look at the x-ray its difficult to conclude what it actually is. Go for a PET SCAN to get it diagnosed.
May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable starred feedback to help me assist you in a better way. Go to my profile to write a Review regarding your experience with me here at my Virtual clinic.
Regards!
