I just had an chest x ray and it says There are fibronodular and fibrolinear densities seen in the right upper lung field. The rest of the lung fields are clear. The trachea is in the midline. The heart is not enlarged. The pulmonary vessels are within normal limits. Both hemidiaphragms are distinct. The osseous thoracic cage reveals no significant bony abnormality. Conclusion: CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY PROCESS IN THE RIGHT UPPER LUNG FIELD. Suggest comparative study if previous film is available.
is it contagious? what is this? please help. Thank you.
Prima facie the chest X Ray findings suggest a scar of a previous infection. However we have to confirm this by doing additional tests like sputum examination , blood tests like CBC and ESR and if required a CT Scan of the chest. Please see a physician or a chest medicine consultant who could arrange the above test. If there is no active infection on these tests then the disease is not contagious. Hope this helps Good luck
