Hi doc my last period was April 1, 2014, I took miscarriage pills last May 16,2014 and had blood clots for two days, now i undergone transviganal ultrasound the result was with well-formed gestational sac of 1.8cm no fetal/embryonic pole seen.the rest of the uterus is unremarkable. The posterior cul-de-sac is unremarkable..What all this means doct?thank you so much for the explanation.
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. As per your history, the transvaginal ultrasound report suggests an incomplete abortion. There is no fetal parts but the gestational sac is still there. If there would have been complete abortion, the gestational sac would also have come out. The clots which you passes must have been fetal pole. You should consult a gynecologist and get a D&C done to clear the uterine cavity and remove any remaining products of conception. She will clean the cavity and you should be fine after that. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards, Dr. Pankaj Nagori Specialist Radiologist
