What Does The Urine Test With RBC 2-4 And Pus Cells 8-12 Indicate?

Hi, I have a 6 month old niece. She has only 1 functional kidney. The right side. Her latest urine test result is RBC 2-4 and PUS CELLS 8-12. 2 months ago she has this also and was given by her pediatrician a course of antibiotic and it was gone. And then it is there again. Why does it keep on coming back? What does it indicate?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. It indicates possible renal cause. Abnormalities in renal pelvis system could be the cause.
2. Presence of pus cells indicates infection. Also gets an additional culture and sensitivity done to identify the organism.
3. IVP could help in identifying the pathology.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
