Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
dear doctor my widal test is as follows s.typhil o-1/160 s.typhil h-1/160 dear sir I have taken doses of five days but still my health is not good my medicine is also finished althow I m suffering from typhoid can u plz tell me the reason n what I have to do
1. The 'o' agglutinins are more valuable in active disease whereas 'h' agglutinins may develop as a result of previous infection, and a four fold rise in titre is more suggestive of enteric fever.
PS. In typhoid rise of fever is in step laddder pattern, thus check again after 3-4 days and if the test shows rise of titre above 1/160 it means that typhoid is still rising and you have to continue medicine for few days more.
2. Bed rest, small frequent meals, avoid chilies, spicy and oily food and maintain oral hygiene and vaccinate all at home
