General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sharp chest pain from front to back is indicative of Costochondritis (inflammation between breast bone & the ribs). Though the HR is within normal limits(normal 60-100), Blood Pressure is not(normal 120/80). If he is obese, help him lose weight by diet control (no junk food, oily or spicy food/ avoid addictions if any, give him home made nutritious food, veggies, berries & fruits) & regular walking. You are suggested to get him clinically examined by a GP, if the pain is due to Costochondritis, Acid reflux, etc, he will be treated accordingly. He can take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) / Combiflam, one sos when needed. He can also take antacids & PPI's for relieve. To stay on the safer side, get him checked by a cardiologist, get routine cardiac tests done to rule out raised level of cholesterol & triglyceride, any developing CAD, coronary artery disease or Congenital heart problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
