Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This CSF Flow MRI Scan Finding Indicate?
Hello. What does this mean in a CSF flow MRI: Changes of prior suboccipital decompressive craniectomy and C1 laminectomy for Chiari I malformation. Redemonstrated CSF flow related signal along the pre pontine, pre medullary cisterns, ventral and dorsal aspect of foramen magnum and upper cervical spinal canal.
Based on the history you have shared, it shows that previously surgery might have been done to repair the protrusion of lower parts of brain down from the skull to some parts of the neck or spinal cord and has been repaired however for CSF flow some parts are showing signs of mild obstruction of CSF flow and back pressure may result
However these films should be discussed with a neurosurgeon for detailed review and clinical correlation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
