My father, aged 77 years old is facing little bit pressure on the left side of his chest sometimes while cycling on ups & down on road. Recently he made an ECG which is showing an impression as "Low voltage QRS". Please let us know whether it is anything serious or not.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should get done 2D Echo to rule out other causes of low voltage QRS. Low voltage QRS is seen in 1. Obese patients 2. Pericardiac effusion. 3. Lid placements on ribs. 4. Severe cardiomyopathy with low ejection fraction. 5. Sometimes in normal patients too. Since your father is old age (77) and chest symptoms, I will advice to get done 2D Echo to evaluate further and rule out above mentionrd causes.
