What Does This MRI Of Neck Indicate Regarding Headache And Dizziness?

I recently had a seizure type episode, I went to the ER and they stated I was dehydrated, however when my pcp got the paperwork i was not dehydrated. I stayed confused and disoriented for several weeks. I have gone to meet with a neurologist who ordered several tests one was an MRI of my neck which showed cervical spondilosis, kyposis and Degenerative disk disease with bond spur s, my eeg, mri, and CAT scan of my brain all came back normal. I continue to have issues and my PCP finally put me on a 9 day dose of steroids as I have having extreme joint and muscle pain every where, on the 9th day it was as if someone turned on the lights and I felt much better with confusion and dizziness gone, still have pain and fatique and headache which comes and goes during the day but I have it daily.

Hello,

As the MRI brain and EEG came back normal, we can assume there is no major problem. MRI neck showing cervical spondylitis can be a reason for your dizziness and headache. Due to bony spurs impinging upon nerve roots, dizziness and headache and neck pain occur.

1)Take NSAIDs like tab. Ibuprofen or Naproxen for 14 days.
2) If you have kidney failure or bleeding disorders, NSAIDs are not to be used. Opioids can be used like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone and Tramadol can be used daily twice.
3) Take tab. Pregabalin for 14 days
4) To avoid gastric irritation, tab. Pantop before food for 14 days.
5) Wear a soft neck collar.
6) Physical therapy with neck muscles strengthening exercises is recommended to relieve pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
