H1! My husband just had a MRI and the results were the following: 1. No IAC masses. 2. Numerous chronic lacunar infarctions in the left cerebellar hemisphere. Moderate to severe chronic ischemic changes noted in the pons. 3. Minimal bilateral maxillary and right sphenoid sinus mucosal thickening. Would you please help to interpret this findings?

HI
Thanks for posting your query .
I will not go into the technical terms because you will not understand it . I will explain it in simple understandable language .
Lacunar means Small , Infarctions means Dead tissue due to block in blood circulation. Numerous chronic lacunar infarctions in the left cerebellar hemisphere means there are multiple areas of dead brain tissue in Cerebellum ( Cerebellum is a part of brain )
Ischemia means reduced ( but not blocked ) blood supply. Chronic means -- happening from long time . Moderate to severe chronic ischemic changes noted in the pons means there is significant reduction of blood supply to brain in the region of PONS. It also suggests that these regions may die in next few days or weeks or months .
Minimal bilateral maxillary and right sphenoid sinus mucosal thickening is suggestive of Sinusitis .
I hope i have clarified your query.
