What Does This MRI Scan Regarding Severe Pain In Neck Indicate?
I have had very severe pain in left hand side of neck and skull for about 7 months. i have had an mri scan with resultssevere neural exit foraminal narrowing with compression on C5 nerve. also the same on C6 nerve causes by moderate sized osteochondral bars. I have a perineural cyst associated with C7 and 8 nerves. also there is a inferior endplate fracture, seen within the inferior endplate of C6 and the superior and inferior endplate fracture in C5. Are these fractures how we imagine them or are they a medical term..Do you think anything can be done to take the pain away, or will i have to put up with this always, Thankyou Tonia
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Yes, some thing can be done for the pain relief, it starts with a neck support and simple exercises in early stage, where in advanced stage needs operative / interventional procedure. 2.The findings are seen in case of a age related, and excessive movements ( hard work) 3.The disc which is suppose to be in between the vertebrae has moved back and causing pressure on the nerve passing through the canal posteriorly. 4.Perineural cyst if its not causing any indentation / mass effect then there is no need to intervention. 5.End plate fracture (traumatic / systemic diseases or underlying malignancy) depending on the nature the treatment depends on. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
