Hello,
Numbness and
tingling sensation in the thigh can come in most of the cases from an irritation of a
nerve or his roots in the
vertebral column (lumbar more specifically). I would like to know more about exactly where in the thigh it is, when does it get worse and when does it get better?
Normally, you have seen a
neurologist and I suppose he has visited you and didn't find any neurologic deficits? Also you are telling that there is no loss of force. Apart from this, do you have any other symptoms like this but on another part of your body? If no, lets continue toward your
MRI and your symptoms
In MRI I suppose you mean L3-L4 which mean that is in your lower back (lumbar discs) and in the MRI they doesn't said it is a
hernia, so I think you shouldn't be worry, it is just a irritation of a nerve. Sensitive symptoms usually lasts between 3-6 weeks and then it goes away by them self.
What you should try is to avoid the position which causes or worse the symptoms and try to rest. When you feel better you should try to do some exercise also for back muscles so you are going to prevent discal hernia. If your symptoms persist more then 6 weeks, then you should go to see your neurologist again to watch for other tests to do.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
