What Does This TSH Level Of 0.005 Indicate?

Hi Doctor I am middle 50 and had my sever heart palpitation last Monday with 130 and went to the hospital by ambulance, I was immediately treated as heart attack. But discharged 6 hours later as they can t found any heart attack evidence. My doctor taken my blood exam and just found now my TSH is less than 0.005, and he told me that I am more likely have thyroid problem. Please advise me what treatment I need from now? If it confirms (more likely will), means I need take medicine rest of life? will the medicine that current treat for all thyroid penitent has potential damage your lever or other part of your body? I am very worried and if yes, will the surge be the better option?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to be suffering from hyperthyroidism. You will be needed to take anti-thyroid drugs. The dosage of this drug will have to be adjusted depending on your T3, T4 and TSH levels. Scan of thyroid and biopsy of thyroid may be needed for knowing reason of hyperthyroidism.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
