Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sir, my daughter is of 13yrs 10 months, weight-33kg and her 5 months earlier TSH test report was: TSH: 6.37, T3: 1.55, T4:6.65 and she was taking thyronorm 12.5 mg. Now she has a symptom of throat swelling. Repeat TSH test has been done and TSH is now 105(one hundred and five) microIU/ml. Please advice what will be the dosage of thyronorm?
dear friend her earlier report TSH was high normal while in the next after 12 .5 microgram TSH is grossly abnormal there are at times goiter noticed in pubertal girls and boys more in girls if sheh is not gaining weight and not having menstrual abnormalities. you may wait for some more time and keep a watch on her thyroid function by getting a TFT done at regular interval. but if there is an issue with weight, growth and development please consult a pediatric endocrinologist for correct guidance and dosage
