What Does This X-ray Report For Chest Pain Suggest?

Hello, My mother is 61 year old and is suffering from pain in the chest region during movement and while jerks. I got her X ray done, report says Lung fields congested and increased broncho vascular markings.Heart is within normal limit. Doctor suggested for a CT scan. I have got that done also and report is awaited. While walking my mother respires heavily. Please let me know what it could be.Hope nothing serious. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Congestion in the lung fields could be an array of conditions, but mostly some sort of an infection. The CT scan should provide a more clear picture on the possibilities, but if I could see the xray I could narrow down the causes for you. But I am sure the CT scan will provide you with all the information you need.

Best wishes.
