What Does This Blood Test Result For Tingling Sensation In Body Indicate?

I am 71 and on my Comprehensive Metabolic Panel my Glucose is 101, BUN 21, Creatinine 1.1 all were normal, BUT the GFR is 52/1.73m2 (low). I have noticed this before and no one seems to see it but me. Since I am not African why is this so low. This report is from the hospital as I was admitted for a TIA which I don t think I had as all test were normal and I still have some tingling yet but the GFR seems to keep being missed or glossed over, so why is it low?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sometimes, GFR is declined with age in some cases, and that's normal; unless there is no other metabolic illness. This is explaining why your doctors won't care about your GFR levels. I think you should get them rechecked and keep regular follow up with kidney specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
