Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Chest CT Scan While Having Pneumonia Indicate?
I have had a ongoing problem starting back of Sept. 27 , 2015 when I was very sick with pneumonia . During a CatScan they had found a nodule in my upper right lung that at one point was 16mm in size . Since then I have had 2 more Cscan and the nodule is smaller but still 1.5mm in size and I have been experiencing more pain in my right side of my chest and in the same spot but in my back . I have a copy of the results from my last CT Chest w/CONT. which I had done on Aug. 25 , 2016 in the IMPRESSION part of the letter there are these things typed in 1) Mild pulmonary hyperexpansion. 2) Persistant although smaller right hilar lymphadenopathy . 3) Complete interval resolution of anterior segment right upper lobe airspace disease . Some persistent although less pronounced thickening of the minor fissure is present . What does this all mean ?
This means air trapping, bronchitic changes and lymph node enlargent (due to pneumonia) with thickening or scarring of the minor fissure (post healing).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
