What Does This Kidney Biopsy Test Results Indicate?
Hello Sir,My Grand ma has the following problem,Right kidney:Measures 10.6 X 4.2 cm noted.Thinning of renal parenchyma is noted.small parenchymal calcification measuring 6.5 mm seen in mid pole region.Gross dilatation of pelvicaliceal system noted. No obvious excretion of contrast material seen on right side even on delayed scans. What this mean?what hapen to right kidney?
Hi, Based on the information provided, your grandmother appears to have a condition called hydronephrosis of the right kidney.. This means that the kidney loses its normal structure and becomes enlarged like a bag of water. This affects the kidney's ability to filter waste material. One of the reasons for this condition is an obstruction to the flow of urine. This obstruction could be due to a stone in the urinary tract. It could also be due to conditions such as strictures or tumours etc. I presume that Blood urea and serum creatinine tests have been done for your grandma. How are those values? At the moment a urological opinion is necessary to decide on what should be done next. Should you require further assistance and information please post the subsequent test reports and queries here . Best regards.
