General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the myxoid degeneration do indicate post traumatic changes at microscopic levels with damage to underlying ligaments and tendon insertion. A detailed discussion about the need of reconstruction surgery is needed with your ortho or rehabilitation specialist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
