What Does This Lab Report Signify:linear, hazy Infiltrates In Both Lung Fields With Predominance In The Lower Lobes?
Good Morning Doc, I am 53 yrs, old, female, please help me understand the result of my chest x-ray conducted last December 22, 2013, as follows: Heart shows normal size & configuration. Pulmonary vascular markings are normal. There are linear, hazy infiltrates in both lung fields with predominance in the lower lobes. Diaphragm & lateral sulci are intact. Visualized osseous structures are unremarkable. Impression: Consider pneumonitis. Follow-up study is suggested. Is it not critical? Here is my email add: YYYY@YYYY
I have gone through your query. Your x-ray is suggestive of infection in lower lobe of both lungs. This is not critical if treated in time. You have to start antibiotic like amoxycillin or levofloxacin. After the course is completed there should be another chest x-ray to see if infection has regressed. Contact your local doctor for treatment.
Regards
