What Does This Lab Test Result For White Discharge From Fingers Indicate?
KLEBSIELLA OXYTOCA was the results of a cx i had done under my finger nail. i was having pain and white drainage from under the nail and thats why we did cx. I have MS also i was just concerned and wanted to know if this is something i should we worried about.. np gave me minocycline 100mg bid x 10days
Klebsiella oxytoca is a normal bacteria of gut and produces no symptom in the gut. However, outside the gut they produce symptoms of infection. The usual treatment of infection is generally with antibiotics including minocycline. Usually treatment of Klebsiella oxytoca for complete eradication is long, usually one month & in some cases even up to 3 months.
However, a review after 10 days may be needed to ascertain, if the antibiotic is working or not. In some cases, routine antibiotics may not work & we might have to go for an antibiotic sensitivity test to select the specific antibiotic to be used for desired results.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
