What Does This Lipase Level From Blood Test Result For Gastroenteritis Indicate?

I went in to urgent care for a gastroenteritis, diarr__, however you spell it. Was feeling bad. She put me on Bactrim for a week, told me to stay hydrated, did an IV to replenish electrolytes and did basic bloodwork - Blood count and metabolic panel. Everything for the most part was normal on the bloodwork except the lipase was 106. On this lab s scale, the range was 7 to 60. I looked on the webmd and the nomal range for lipase is 10-140. There is no history of pancreatitis in the family and my bloodwork is always pretty normal. I am feeling better after only 2 days of the Bactrim. That probably isn t a big deal, is it?

Dear friend, this level of lipase is almost normal. There is not any cause of concern. Since you are feeling good by taking medicines, so it is okay. No need to worry, enjoy.
