What Does This Lumbar Puncture Results Indicate?

I received my lumbar puncture results but have not heard from any of my doctors on what they mean. The patient s CSF contains 5 well defined gamma restriction bands that are not present in the patient s corresponding serum sample. These bands indicate abnormal synthesis of gammaglobulins in the CNS. IGG, IGG Index, and IGG Synth are all high. CSF Albumin and Alpha-2 Globulin is low. Gamma Gobulin is high. CSF M Spike is high; An additional m-spike was observed at a concentration of 7.8%. I have been told twice it is MS, only to be told it probably isn t, but that they wanted to see if the tests support or deny a MS diagnosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding the Lumber puncture test that demonstrates a high gammaglobin high M-spike high IgG I am suggesting one of the following

Multiple sclerosis
Neurosyphilis
Gullian Barre syndrome

In view of this please do the following test to confirm the appropriate diagnosis

Serological test to detect Syphilis
MRI and CT scan to confirm Spinal cord disease and multiple sclerosis

Please see a neurologist specialist for expert clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription after the outcome of the result

I hope this helps Regards
