Results of mammography - what does it mean, especially cat 4 & 5? Only seeing dr in 4 months time for prescription of HRT:

ACR-BIRADS category:

1: No abnormalities

2: Typicaly benign lesions

3: The lesions are probably benign but should be followed up and cliniclly evaluated 6 monthly.

4: The lesions are highly suggestive of a mitotic process and biopsy is indicated.

5: The lesions shows all the characteristics of being a mitotic lesion and immediate excission biopsy indicated.
