What Does This Motor Nerve Conduction Report Indicate?
My motor nerve conduction report mentions, the electrophysiologic finding of decrement on repetitive stimulation of the accessory nerve is suggestive of a post synaptic disorder of neuromuscular transmission. Can you please define that for me and does it have relation to ALS.
Myasthenia gravis and lambort eaton syndrome s are classical example of post synaptic neuromuscular disease. In this disease patient feels weakness after repeated activity. At the start of activity there is no weakness but when patient continues that activity he will feel weakness. So these patient tend to feel weakness in afternoon and night. There is calcium related defect. For the diagnosis Electrophysiological studies are required.
