What Does This Report Signify While On UTI Treatment?

My mother aged 74 years had UTI 2 months back & now urine was given for culture on 14th December 2015 & the result is as follows : Organism : Escherichia coli - 10000 colonies/ml grown. Extended spectrum beta lactamase Positive she is already taking UTI check tablet for the last one month

I really appreciate your concern, in female patient urinary tract infection does not cure very easily and it take much time and many drugs needed to try so in my opinion the most sensitive drug can be tried for at least 15 days second underlying cause of infection need to be found out it could be some stone, bladder disease, renal pathology and others hope this information helps.
