Hi, My age is 30. I have got my widal test report: Specimen: Blood S. typhi (TO); Result- 1:160 S. typhi (TH); Result- 1:80 S. paratyphi (AO): Result- 1:20 S. paratyphi (AH): Result- 1:160 S. paratyphi (BO): Result- 1:80 S. paratyphi (BH):reult- 1:320 Can you tell me condition of my report.
Your widal report may suggest positive test.Single titration of anti O or H > or equal to 1 : 160 may indicate positive test. However,single titration is of little clinical importance. You may need clinical correlation and follow up test.Four fold increase in titre confirms widal test. You may need tablet antibiotics like cefixime tablet of ceftriaxone injection after evaluation.
