What Does Tingling Sensation In The Feet Indicate?

Hello- I have recently noticed a tingly feeling in my feet- always having a cold feeling. I also have had some head fogginess. I recently went off birthcontrol in preparation for a laparoscopy (possibly endometriosis which looked like it has attached my ovary to my abdomen wall) and they will be putting in a IUD to help stop my heavy periods. I am wondering if it sounds like I may have low iron (due to the long and heavy cycles) or a reaction from coming off the birth control. I go next week for blood work for the surgery so I don t want to call again with another problem when I will be getting my blood checked in a few days? Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Do following investigations:
-RBS, PP2BS
-Complete Hemogram
-Serum vitamin B12
-X-ray lumbar spine

As anemia, diabetes, low B12 level or nerve compression at lumbar spine can cause a tingling sensation. That will be ruled out from above investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
