my son is having a uteroscopy for a mass in the ureter. Kidney stones have been ruled out ( he did have blood in the urine and pain in his Right side). can a doctor know if it is cancer or does he have to wait for the biopsy? The doctor mentioned Transitional cell cancer. My son is 32 and 6'2''
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. If he has mass in ureter with bleeding and no any stones then there is high chance of transitional cell carcinoma. However confirmed diagnosis can be given only after biopsy and histopathological examination. So go for biopsy and plan accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
