my name is santosh grover i am 67 year old female my body weight is 70 kg I got my blood test of tsh, ultrasensitive (clia) result 5.38 uIU/ml (0.550-4.780) what i should do should i start a medicine for ths if to consult a docter then suggest me a good doctor i reside in mansarover gardrn new delhi 110015 contact no 0000
You have mildly increased TSH level.It indicates mild hypothyroid state. You need few more investigations like free T4 level and ultrasonography of thyroid gland. You also need clinical correlation.If there are symptoms suggestive of hypothyroidism then tablet eltroxin 25 microgram can be started once daily in the morning in empty stomach. You should consult endocrinologist.
