My results of neck ultrasound indicate - 'The right thyroid lobe measures 1.6 x 4.5 x 2.1 cm. It contains a largemixed echogenicity mass, measuring 3.3 x 1.9 x 1.4 cm. The isthmus isunremarkable. The left thyroid lobe measures 1.3 x 4 x 0.9 cm. No focallesions are identified'
In ultrasound terms echogenicity is the grey resolution of the structure being evaluated. Hyper echogenicity means whiter than normal and hypoechogenicity means darker than normal. Isoechogenicity is same as normal. In your case there is a mixed echogenicity nodule which may be indicative of a goiter.
