Do my urinalysis results mean a possible infection? Leukocyte Esterase 75/ul; [nitrite negative; protein negative;glucose normal; ketones negative; urobilin normal; bilirubun normal; blood negative; color normal; appearance normal] microscopic results: squamous epithelial cells few; RBC/Hpf 0-2; WBC/HPF 0-2; Bacteria OCC. My concern is the Leukocyte Esterase value and the microscopic Bacteria listed as OCC.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of urine analysis report is as follows: 1. There is presence of few red blood cells, few epithelial cells, pus cells/ white blood cells in the urine. This suggests presence of infection. The presence of occasional bacteria and leukocyte esterase further potentiates the presence of infection. Other tests for glucose, proteins, ketone bodies, bilirubin, blood and urobilin are all negative. You need to consult your doctor with the reports for prescription of antibiotics to treat the infection in the urinary tract.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
