What Does Vaginal Spotting Indicate?

About two-three hours ago I had sex. About ten minutes ago I noticed some wetness in my vaginal region but I just figured it was normal secretions. After going to the bathroom, I wiped and noticed a small amount of blood. Is this normal? I ve been sexually active for about four months with my husband. He is my only partner.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

What symptoms you are experiencing seems to be normal. Such spotting could be caused either due to mechanical abrasions in the vaginal mucosa or because of intermenstrual spotting due to hormonal variations.

Kindly consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation if it happens frequently and become bothersome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
