What Does White Discoloration On The Finger Tip Suggest?

Hi, last night i noticed what looked like white paint on 2 of my finger tips. It kinda felt like a acid burn. Tried washing with dial. Tried using hydrocortisone and nothing worked kept burning. Finally after about 25min it just went away, so took a shower and went to bed. Woke up this morning and was fine and about 30min after I woke I had same exact looking few spots on my legs. Again burned like acid. But again after about half an hour they are gone. Very strange but it burned awfully bad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

One of the common causes of discoloration on the fingertip is a fungal infection. You can send a picture to evaluate better the symptoms.

I suggest using a antifungal cream such as Miconazole cream for local application.

I also recommend to maintain good hygiene and use cotton socks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
