Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The report suggests that there is a developing
pregnancy inside the uterus.
The absence of cardiac activity and
fetal pole suggest that it cannot be sure if the baby is alive or not and its heart is beating or not. This kind of report is seen in normal pregnancies when
ultrasound is done too early, before development of the baby and its heart. Another condition is if the baby is not alive [missed abortion] similar findings are seen.
However, the presence of well defined sac, absence of collection and normal decidual reaction favor the chances that the baby is ok and this is simply an early report.
Confirmation needs to be done with a follow up scan after 10-14 days. If fetal pole and heart seen seen in that scan, no need to worry. Just take
folic acid, rest and wait till next scan.
The
corpus luteal cyst is not to be worried about. It will go away after some days.
Hope you find this useful.
Do post if you had a normal follow up scan as it is a source of joy to me too as a consultant.
Thanks for choosing HCM. Feel free to ask more.
