What Effect Can High Resistance Index Of Right Artery Have During Pregnancy?

Hi
I am 16 weeks pregnant and I found at my 12 week scan that my resistance index for the right artery is a bit high:
RI = 0.84, PI = 2.41 and S/D = 6.44 (right uterine artery)
RI = 0.63, PI = 1.1 and S/D = 2.68 (left uterine artery)

Would this cause any problems later on?

Many thanks

As you progress through the pregnancy the resistance in the uterine arteries will decrease to increase the blood flow resulting in reduced RI. You need not worry about the values you have got at this point of time. If there is high RI after the 2nd trimester along with an early diastolic notch in the uterine arteries, it indicates preeclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension. Right now i would advise you to get an anomaly scan done at 18-20weeks to ruleout any fetal anomalies which is done as part of routine antenatal care. I hope i answered your query.
